Dhruv Kaushal, Partner at King Stubb & Kasiva, was recently featured in *Financial Express* in an article examining the Supreme Court’s proposed framework for regulating the use of Artificial Intelligence in the judicial system.

The article, titled *“Supreme Court Moves to Ringfence Justice from AI Risks,”* explores the judiciary’s efforts to establish safeguards around the use of AI tools in court proceedings while preserving transparency, accountability, and the integrity of the adjudicatory process.

Commenting on the proposed disclosure requirements, Dhruv highlighted the importance of adopting a practical and proportionate approach to AI governance within the legal ecosystem.

According to Dhruv, while mandatory disclosure of AI usage is a positive development, the effectiveness of the framework will depend on how disclosure thresholds are defined and implemented. He noted that a risk-based approach would be preferable, where disclosure obligations arise when AI materially contributes to legal reasoning, factual analysis, evidence generation, or the drafting of substantive legal arguments.
