He explained that travellers are advised to carry proof of ownership such as invoices, bills, or photographs showing prior use and ensure compliance with customs procedures. He further noted that under Section 124 of the Customs Act, a Show Cause Notice (SCN) and an opportunity for a hearing are mandatory before any confiscation or penalty. Failure to follow these due process requirements can render seizure orders vulnerable to judicial review.
