Government Simplifies GST Biometric Authentication: Aditya Bhattacharya Highlights Key Reform

With the motto of ease of doing business in India, the Government has introduced a crucial reform in the GST biometric authentication process. Taxpayers are no longer required to visit their jurisdictional GST Suvidha Kendra for authentication. Instead, they can now complete the process at any GST Suvidha Kendra within their home state.

Commenting on this development, Aditya Bhattacharya, Partner at KSK, stated: “The step has been taken by the Government in its pursuit of its ‘ease of doing business’ motto. Authentication no longer requires taxpayers to visit their jurisdictional GST Suvidha Kendra, as they can now complete biometric authentication at a center in their home state.”
