KSK Secures Key Judicial Safeguards in Tax Investigation Matter

King Stubb & Kasiva (KSK) acted for Miles Education Pvt. Ltd. in a tax litigation matter before the Hon’ble High Court of Telangana, resulting in significant judicial directions reinforcing procedural safeguards in regulatory investigations.

The Hon’ble Court directed the investigating authorities to ensure that inquiries are conducted strictly during working hours, that statements are recorded voluntarily, and that established judicial guidelines governing investigations are adhered to. In a subsequent proceeding, the Court further emphasised the need for discretion during investigations, particularly to ensure that client confidentiality is not compromised.

The orders reflect the judiciary’s continued focus on procedural fairness, individual rights, and responsible conduct by enforcement authorities, especially in the context of tax and regulatory investigations.

The matter was handled by Vipin Upadhyay, K Vidya, and Sai Charan B V N, who briefed Senior Advocate Avinash Desai in both writ proceedings.
