Rohitaashv Sinha Comments on the Eighth Pay Commission in Leading Publications
Rohitaashv Sinha, Partner KSK, has provided insightful commentary on the Eighth Pay Commission in the latest articles published by Moneycontrol, Business Standard, and The Times of India. Discussing the calculation of salaries under the new commission, Rohitaashv emphasized that the expected hike could be a remarkable 186 percent. He further explained that with a fitment factor of 2.86, the minimum basic pay could increase to Rs 51,480 per month under the Eighth Pay Commission.
In his comments, he also highlighted the significant revisions likely to be introduced through the Central Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2025, as part of the government’s implementation plan. He provided historical context, noting that pay commissions typically review and revise salaries every decade. Referring to the Seventh Pay Commission, which came into effect in January 2016, Rohitaashv pointed out the increase in the minimum basic pay from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000, with a fitment factor of 2.57.
