In a recent article published by Mint, titled “After Samsung, is Hyundai Next? Strike Threat Looms Over Chennai Plant”, Rohitaashv Sinha was quoted on the legal developments surrounding the ongoing labour unrest at Hyundai’s Chennai manufacturing facility.

Addressing the implications of the Madras High Court’s interim order, he noted:

“The injunction granted by the Madras High Court to Hyundai in March temporarily restrains the union from initiating strike action. However, such an injunction does not grant the company indefinite or absolute protection from future strikes.”

The article discusses the growing tension between management and workers at the Hyundai Motor India plant, following closely on the heels of the labour dispute at Samsung. Rohitaashv’s quote provides legal clarity on the limitations of court-ordered injunctions in the context of industrial disputes and reinforces the evolving landscape of labour relations in India’s auto-manufacturing sector.
