In the article titled “File consumer complaint within two years of the last cause of action”, Sukrit highlighted the importance of properly structuring consumer complaints and ensuring that they contain specific and well-defined prayers. He noted that many complaints fail at the threshold because they do not clearly state the relief being sought, such as refund, replacement, compensation, interest, or litigation costs.

He further emphasized that maintaining proper documentation is critical for successfully establishing claims before consumer forums. In real estate disputes, key documents such as the builder-buyer agreement, payment schedules, possession letters, and correspondence regarding delays play a crucial role in determining limitation and liability. For insurance-related disputes, policy documents, claim submissions, surveyor reports, and repudiation letters form the evidentiary foundation of a complaint. Similarly, in cases involving defective products, repair records can help demonstrate deficiency in service or product quality.
