Commenting on expectations from the Budget, he emphasized that an upward revision of income tax exemption thresholds, along with simplified slab structures, would provide much-needed relief to pensioners and senior citizens facing rising living and healthcare costs. He noted that such measures would significantly ease the tax burden on retirees and help preserve financial stability during their post-retirement years.

Vipin also stressed the importance of clear guidance on the continued applicability of the old versus new tax regimes for senior citizens. According to him, greater certainty on this aspect would enable retirees to make informed and predictable financial planning decisions, reducing confusion and compliance challenges.

He concluded that a senior-citizen-focused approach in Budget 2026 combining tax relief, simplicity, and clarity would reflect a responsive and inclusive tax policy framework, aligned with the evolving demographic and social realities of the country.
