“Landlords can adjust unpaid rent against the security deposit paid by the tenant, subject to the terms of the agreement and by providing proper notice to the address specified in the agreement. In the event the agreement is silent on the address for service, then the same can be sent to the premises where the tenant is residing,” explains Smita.
