The MCA in General Circular No. 10/2022, dated 28.12.2022 has further decided to permit the companies to organise AGM through video conferencing or other audio-visual means in the year 2023 on or before September 30, 2023 in accordance with the requirements laid out in paragraphs 3 and 4 of General Circular Nos. 20/2022[1] dated May 5, 2020, continuing its previous general circulars issued in respect to allowing companies to hold AGM through video conferencing or in other audio-visual ways.

Additionally, it is also made clear in the circular that nothing in this Circular should be interpreted as an extension of the deadline for holding the AGM, and companies that fail to hold their AGM by the deadline will be held accountable under the applicable sections of the Companies Act of 2013.
