Al Framework to Be Presented by July: Mos IT
Highlighting the necessity for regulations governing artificial intelligence (“AI”), Minister of State, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, asserted India’s forefront role in framing such regulations. He announced that these frameworks would be unveiled by June-July this year. Drawing attention to the upcoming mid-year Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence summit, he ensured participation from diverse stakeholders, particularly from the Global South, who are traditionally side-lined in tech deliberations. Chandrasekhar stressed the imperative need for guardrails and what the nature, form and shape of these rules and protocols will be, essentially relying on the basic principle that every platform must be legally accountable for any harm that it causes or enables and the corollary that they should not enable criminality.
