EPFO clarification on levy of damages

The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in its letter dated 28^th August, 2024 has clarified that the revised rate of damages notified under GSR 327(E) and GSR 329(E) dated 14^th June, 2024 have come into effect from 14^th June 2024 and damages on any defaults made up to 13^th June 2024, i.e., in the payment of contributions, charges payable, transfer of accumulations are to be levied and recovered in accordance with the then prevailing provisions.
