ESIC F. NO. I-21013/1/2022/ICT DATED 17.04.2023 – AADHAAR Implementation IN ESIC  

Issued in pursuance to the Gazette Notification dated 13-01-2023 regarding Aadhaar, the circular confirms the implementation of the provision for seeding and authentication of Aadhaar of newly registered insured persons, ESIC employees and pensioners has been implemented in the system. 

Employers can now seed an employee’s Aadhaar number while registering them, and after authentication, the employee’s personal details will be auto-populated in the system. Additionally, by providing consent, the employee’s ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account) number, a unique identity used to identify a person and update their health records across multiple healthcare service providers, will also be generated based on the Aadhaar number provided. 

Similarly, provisions are provided in ESIC Staff/Pensioner module available on www.esic.gov.in for seeding and authentication of Aadhaar number of ESIC employees and pensioners. The notification also includes a user manual for the above updates.
