The Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund  (Amendment) Act, 2024

The Labour Welfare Fund is designed to look after the workers of factories, mines, plantations and other establishments. The fund is required and utilised to provide welfare requisites, housing, healthcare, etc. The rates of the contribution are state-specific. This Amendment updates the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965, by revising the contribution rates and introducing additional provisions for its implementation. The revised annual contribution rates are as follows:

– Employee Contribution: Increased from ₹20 to ₹50.

– Employer Contribution: Increased from ₹40 to ₹100.

– State Government Contribution: Increased from ₹20 to ₹50.
