Preparatory Measures For The Management And Mitigation Of Adverse Effects Of Extreme Hot Weather

The Labour Department of the Government of Puducherry has issued this circular following the direction of the Ministry of Labour & Employment, GOI, as steps for management and mitigation of adverse effects of extreme hot weather. It is instructed to the occupiers, employers, construction companies and industries, to ensure that they reschedule working hours for employees in different sectors, make arrangements to regulate piece rate, requirement, urgency for undertaking physical work during summer, ensure adequate drinking water, provision of buttermilk and ORS, emergency ice packs, heat illness prevention material and adherence to the Health Advisory that has been issued by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for Employers and Workers, and to ensure that special attention is paid to the construction workers, casual labourers, brick kiln workers and ensure that the communication to be made to them.
