New Due Date For The Payment Of Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Contribution

The Government of Karnataka releases a Press Note dated January 16, 2023, extending the due date for the payment of Karnataka Labour Fund contribution online up to January 31, 2023. The Government in its previous release[1] had directed the establishments covered under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965 to remit the contributions towards the labour welfare fund on or before January 15, 2023, for the year 2022.

The Press Note dated January 16, 2023 also mentions that any delay in payment of contributions shall attract penal interest at the rate of 12% on the amount due for the first three months, and 18% thereafter; and initiation of legal proceedings by theLabour Department and inspection by the concerned Welfare Commissioner.
