Rajasthan Issues Conditions for Employing Women Workers During Night

The Labour Department, Government of Rajasthan has issued a directive dated March 07, 2024 bearing No.: F.14 (11) (1) Bomb: Law: 2017 for employing women workers during the night in Rajasthan in shops and establishments covered under the Rajasthan Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958. Among others, the employer has to obtain the consent of the female employees who are to be employed at night. Further, all women employees will be issued appointment letters and photo identity cards. In case of women employees working at night, the employer shall ensure arrangements to prevent possible acts or incidents of sexual harassment in the workplace. It shall be the responsibility of the employer to ensure their complete safety. Accordingly, the employer shall provide transportation arrangements to the women employees to travel from home to workplace and back at night.
