The Government of Kerala, through Notification G.O.(P) No. 36/2025/LBR dated 24 April 2025 and published as S.R.O. No. 492/2025 in the Kerala Gazette on 28 April 2025, has amended the Kerala Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 1983. The amendment revises the fee structure under Rule 12, pertaining to the grant of registration certificates and licences to establishments employing inter-state migrant workers. The updated fee tables increase the payable amounts across various workforce brackets, with registration fees now ranging from ₹115 (for establishments employing up to 20 workmen) to ₹1,380 (for those exceeding 400), and licence fees ranging from ₹35 to ₹575, with an added security deposit of ₹2,300 per workman.
